Have Faith in Your Future Self

We have all had worries. The anxiety. The fear of the unknown. If you’re a little bit like me, you will have worries about what the future holds. I’m a pretty positive person, but even I have anxiety at times as to what the future holds at times.

That was until recently however, when listening to a podcast.

The podcast in question was regarding humans worrying about hypothetical situations. And work ourselves into a frenzy over something that may never happen.

When we say it like that, it sounds ridiculous really. We spend time stressing about something that may never occur. We live in the future, and not in the present.

So why do we do this?

The belief is that we don’t have faith in our future selves to get ourselves out of a sticky situation, if or when it does happen. We lack the self-belief that if something goes wrong and we are unprepared, then we won’t know how to deal with it.

We feel as though if we always have that apprehension in our mind, then we will always be ‘ready’. Its almost like an insurance policy with ourselves.

But with that apprehension, comes stress. It brings anxiety. And its constant. Relentless. All in the aid of a situation that most probably will never happen.

So, my new found belief on this is that we need to trust ourselves. Trust ourselves to deal with anything and everything life throws at us!!

But more importantly, do the rights things for you, right now! Because, as cliché as it sounds, we only have one life, so we may as well live it in hope, instead of the constant fear of something maybe not going 100% our way in the future.

Believe you can cope with whatever life throws at you, while making the most of your present.

Invest in your health. Invest in your happiness. Invest in you, right now, and you will be able to cope with anything life brings you in the future.

But we need to start with some self belief. Some trust in ourselves!

Enjoy yourself now. Live in the present, not in the future!!
